ABOUT ABOUT

It's been about 1 year since PhillyTapFinder's last bottle share.  Blame my children.  It's their fault.  During the hiatus, I've been scouting out some venues. I came up with a true winner in the Rooftop at Whole Foods on South Street (see pictures below).   This event will sell out so get your ticket now.

Who: You.  Everyone is invited; this is not just for beer geeks.  To participate, don’t feel like you need to have an obscure bottle found in some hidden ruin from the other side of the world or bottle 1 of 1 from a very limited series.  Just stop at a local bottle shop and bring a bottle or two of something that you think others will enjoy.  Of course, if you have a super-rare bottle and want to share it, then please bring it.  Most people bring 1 or 2 large-format bottles.

What: PhillyTapFinder Bottle Share VIII!  What's a bottle share, you ask? It's quite simple.  Everyone brings a large format bottle or two.  We put the bottles at 4 stations based on style (sours, stouts/porters, IPAs/pale ales, and miscellaneous).  When you're ready, you open your bottle and pour yourself a small glass.  You then leave it behind for anyone else that wants a sample.  Likewise, you have the opportunity to try the other attendee's bottles once they are opened by the owner.  In the end, you get to try small samples of amazing beers from all over the world.

We also feed you.  The menu will look something like this:

-Vegetable Platter with Hummus
- Assorted Cheese Tray with Spicy Mustard and Crackers
-BBQ Pulled Pork with sautéed Apples and Rolls
- Vegan “Chicken Cheesesteak” and Rolls (or some other vegetarian option)
-Fireworks Cole Slaw

Where:  Rooftop of Whole Foods (South Street).  The space is perfect.  Lots of room, cool view of the city (see pictures below), easy access to public transportation. We encourage you to walk, bike, or take public transportation -- whatever you can do to avoid driving (Whole Foods will accomodate up to 20 cars).

When:  Saturday, September 12, 1-4pm.  Raindate is September 19.

Why:  Because beer is awesome and everyone likes to share.  In addition, this event has a charitable component as $1 of each ticket will go to the Whole Kids Foundation.  Whole Kids Foundation is dedicated to improving children’s nutrition by supporting schools and inspiring families.  To support this mission, Whole Kids Foundation provides salad bar and garden grants to schools, cooking and nutrition education for teachers and online tools to help school cafeterias serve more fresh veggies and fruit.

Miscellaneous:  Please bring your own glassware or consider buying a PhillyTapFinder/Philly Beer Scene snifter at the event ($5).  We will also have PhillyTapFinder t-shirts available for purchase so feel free to bring some extra cash to show your support. We do not keep any of the money that we charge for this event.

Please email Jared what you will be bring and I will post the running list.

If you have any questions, please email Jared from PhillyTapFinder.  Hope to see you on September 12 and please help us spread the word.
